Spring is here, so let's embroider some Daffodils • Pattern 009

Spring is coming to England. The days are longer and we get more hours of sun. Lots of spring flowers are blooming in various of colours: whites, yellows, purples and pinks.

Lets get ourselves into the Spring mood and embroider some daffodils. As always, the PDF pattern (available in my shop) includes a video tutorial.

Water Lily Hand Embroidery

This new Pattern was inspired by water lilies, found in a fountain, in a beautiful park in England, called Swiss Garden. 

DMC THREAD COMPARISON AND FREE PATTERN 003

Today, I am comparing various DMC threads. I love how economical crochet threads are, but unfortunately, this is not the case with embroidery threads. I love to use Petra cotton thread for any chunky designs, like I did with pattern 002. I think Petra would be best for any upholstery designs, but also pillow covers and throws. 

Free Embroidery Pattern 002 using DMC Petra Cotton

I have experimented with this beautiful, chunky DMC Petra thread used mainly for crocheting. I like how raised the flowers and leaves are. I think similar effect can be achieved with Coton Perlé. For French knots I used Coton Perlé in size 3. The fabric is linen in peach colour. 

New Flower Embroidery • Pattern 001

The new soft coloured flower pattern is here. It was inspired by the end of summer, delicate roses and leaves. It was made with double thread and I used DMC Pearl Cotton in size 5.
